Advent Calendar

See that? I made that. Both child and the advent calendar!

It took me about 3 days to complete. I wanted to do a larger (and much nicer) one, but I waited to long to start making it. My local Joann's didn't have any shade of green felt by the yard so I had to buy the 9x12 sheets and sewed 4 of them together. The pockets are about 2x2 inches. The numbers, pockets, star, and tree were all stiched by hand.

Christopher was all excited when I put this up this morning. His favorite part is the star, not sure how I feel about that.

Day 1 on our Advent Calendar: Decorate the Christmas tree!

We decided to do the "Elf on the Shelf" this year. I've seen other people who have done it with their kids and I absolutely love the idea.

This little guy appeared in our tree while watching the movie "Elf." He brought a special book, candy cane, and a note from Santa with him. After we read the story about the Elf on the Shelf, Christopher named him "Rocky."

Look who's back... with crafts!

I have been a very busy little bee these past few months. I haven't really had the time to keep up with the blog, but I am here now! (hopefully it will be consistent!)

Here is what I've been up to... All of these items are for sale in my etsy shop! (http://www.etsy.com/shop/creationsbyjlynn)

Snowman Soup

I love these things! Aren't they cute?! I give them as stocking stuffers to friends and family. Yummy hot cocoa mix with m&m's and marshmallows and a candy cane to stir it all up! I ran the back through a snowflake embossing folder and made a new label for this year's design.

Snowman Poop

For those who are on the naughty list! Excellent gag gifts. I changed the label and ran the back though an embossing folder this year.

M&M Treats

Another cute stocking stuffer! Kids go crazy with these things, you wouldn't believe it!

Custom Gift Tag Labels

Cute gift labels. I can hand-stamp them with any name you wish (7 letter max).

Gift Tags

Hand cut and stamped. I can do them in several different colors.

Muffin Tin Monday

Top Left to right: Strawberries, Marshmellows, Blueberries
Bottom Left to right: Worcestershire Fried Turkey Hot Dogs, Scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, Sour Cream fruit dip.

So I have posted before about how I started doing bento lunches for my son who is a picky eater. I have seen this Muffin Tin lunch idea around the web and have wanted to do for some time now but I only had one of those gigantic muffin pans. I finally bought a small one for $1.00 at Walmart. So I will be trying to participate in Muffin Tin Monday from now on.

I tried to stick with Red, White, and Blue in honor of the Fourth of July but my little monkey was asking for eggs so some yellow snuck in there. The hot dogs are actually Turkey Dogs that I fried over medium low heat in Worcestershire sauce. Sounds weird but they taste really good. The sour cream fruit dip is very easy to make, its just 1/4cup sour cream, 1/2TBSP of sugar, and 1/2TSP of vanilla extract. I added a drop of neon blue food coloring.
